St. George’s Church, 3909 St. George’s Lane Cadboro Bay

“A TYPICAL HEART” is a remarkable new Canadian documentary about women’s heart disease. You can watch the 1-minute official trailer here:

This is our #1 killer, yet women’s heart attack symptoms are still called “atypical” – even though we make up over half the population!

This FREE public event is hosted by St. George’s Church, 3909 St. George’s Lane in Cadboro Bay. The documentary will be followed by an interactive panel discussion featuring three of the eight patients interviewed for this film – all from Vancouver Island:

– Laurie Blakeley (Port Alberni) who survived a heart attack caused by a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection

– Zamira Vicenzino (Victoria) who passed a full physical “with flying colours” just one week before suffering a heart attack caused by five blocked coronary arteries

– Carolyn Thomas (Oak Bay) who was misdiagnosed with acid reflux in mid-heart attack and sent home from the ER despite her “textbook” heart attack symptoms

The moderator for the panel discussion is Cardiac Social Worker, Barb Field. Admission to this important event is FREE, but space is limited so please reserve your seat today here:

Coffee/tea will be served.
