MARCH 18 – APRIL 20, 2019
VARIOUS VENUES & PROGRAMS AROUND PARKSVILLE & QUALICUM BEACH ON VANCOUVER ISLAND
The 2019 Brant Wildlife Festival theme is Beaches, Marshes and Estuaries.
A Spring Celebration of Nature – we welcome the arrival of thousands of migratory birds, fish and marine mammals to the shores of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. The Brant come to rest and feed before continuing their arduous northern journey to their nesting grounds.
The festival celebrates nature, particularly Brant geese as they rest and feed on the shores of Parksville and Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
For 16 years the Brant Wildlife Festival was spearheaded by the Mid Island Wildlife Watch Society (if you would like to know more about the history of the festival, click here). Over time, the society was challenged to secure the financial and human resources necessary to organize and operate the festival. In June 2006, the members dissolved the society and transferred the assets to The Nature Trust of British Columbia.
The Nature Trust of British Columbia is working with local community groups and volunteers to present the 2019 festival. The festival would not be possible without the generous support of Beach Club Resort, City of Parksville, and Mid Island Co-op., as well as local event sponsors and volunteers.
The Nature Trust of BC is a non-profit land conservation organization. Since 1971, The Nature Trust has been dedicated to conserving and managing ecologically significant land across the province. For more information, visit www.naturetrust.bc.ca
