Vic Gin balances the characteristic evergreen flavour of juniper with notes of citrus, floral, and spice. Each numbered batch is lovingly made by hand and only the middle part of each run, the “hearts”, is saved for bottling. The result is an intensely flavored spirit that is as full-bodied and as complex as a fine single-malt whisky.
The bottle’s shape recalls gin’s reputation as a medicinal spirit. It features Queen Victoria in her radiant youth, an image that embodies our fresh approach to tradition.
Victoria Gin is gluten-free and batches #77 and beyond are certified Kosher by BC Kosher.
We’ve taken Vic Gin — a youthful, award winning spirit — and allowed it to mature gracefully in new American oak barrels until it is amber in colour and beautifully smooth. Behind the portrait of a more mature Queen Victoria is a spirit that’s softened with vanilla notes fromthe oak, full and buttery, with a caramel sweetness.
Left Coast Hemp Vodka
Released in Spring 2010, our Left Coast Hemp Vodka is distilled with the finest Canadian-grown organic hemp seed.
The rich silky texture is elicited by the smooth oils of the hemp hearts. Notes of hazelnut and a hint of spice are present. The finish is long, clean and refreshing.
Besides alluding to a heavy dose of local history, Craigdarroch means “oak of the rocks”. Our Whisky saw a limited release in 2015 following the Victoria Whisky Festival launch.
Twisted & Bitter are handmade in small batches in our copper pot still.
In December 2012 we launched new packaging and two new flavours: Rosemary Grapefruit and Black Pepper. Each adds character and complexity to food and drink without sweetness:
- Orange: A cocktail classic, our Orange bitters bring depth, citrus, and spice. Try them in a classic martini with a twist or with your seared prawns.
- Rosemary Grapefruit: A dash of these fresh, herbaceous bitters brighten citrus and savoury dishes and cocktails. The perfect spike in a G&T.
- Black Pepper: Bold and spicy, these kick over a duck terrine and are killer in a Caesar. Like all our bitters, they make sparkling and tap water sing.
Bitters are highly concentrated tinctures of herbs, spices, fruits and spirits. They don’t just belong at the bar but have huge potential in the kitchen to add depth and kick to food.
Our new waterfront distillery in Sidney will include a space for the public to kick back and experience our spirits in inventive cocktails. For visitors, the experience of touring the distillery and tasting our spirits neat will carry on in our lounge, as they watch top bartenders mix, muddle, and shake. Our on-site lounge will also be a site of innovation, as our bartenders experiment with new cocktails and feed back to the development of pioneering spirits. The lounge will be open in spring 2016.
