JULY 12 – 14, 2019
SKAMpede is Theatre Skam’s 11th annual outdoor live performance festival. SKAM pede features short shows of dance, theatre, spoken word, and more that are suitable for the whole family. Take in a series of short shows along Harbour Road and the Galloping Goose Trail.
Audiences travel from show to show by bicycle, rollerblade, electric mobility scooter, skateboard or on foot (anything that’s legal on the Goose). Shows are free upon presentation of the SKAM button.
HOW DOES SKAMpede WORK?
The audience arrives at ‘The Hub’ (360 Harbour Road), the epicentre where you can find food and hydration and can even fill up on some fun-fast-art before heading out on the trail.
SKAMpeders (that’s YOU!) register at our check-in tent and receive their SKAM Button, decorate their ride at the Decoration Station, and then proceed to departure gates where they are met by a team of audience wranglers. Audiences are dispatched on a tour with a map and take in three to four shows and return to The Hub to get ready for the next tour.
Performing companies repeat their short shows several times a day for these small audiences.
