Unfortunately, there’s not a lot of options for public bingo places in Victoria any more. One place that still offers it is:
Strawberry Vale Community Club – 11 High St Victoria BC (Just off Burnside W)
Wednesday nights every week from 7 PM to 10:00 PM.
The doors open at 6 PM. Early birds at 7PM and regular games start at 7:15 PM.
Players must be 19 years & older.
I cannot believe that in a community like Victoria with so many seniors there is no where to play bingo. So disappointed that esquimault bingo is now permanently closed
Hi Pat, I agree … it is weird. I wonder if Bingo is losing popularity these days? One thing I think helped to hasten their demise is that players were no longer allowed to smoke inside the Bingo Halls. I remember working at one (I belonged to a non-profit society that got proceeds from the Bingo) and the hall was so full of smoke you could hardly see! So not sure but it didn’t help.
Cheers!

I wish bingo was open looked forward to it us seniors love our bingo it was somewhere to go and also socialize
Hi Betty, Yup … too bad that these places are closing down! Not enough revenue? I guess Covid didn’t help!
Cheers!

It is just awful……the Casino should open bingo in the big room upstairs…it’s a win win situation fir them
I’m aware that the Esquimalt bingo is closed. I’m just a bit confused about the Elements casino. I heard they were going to put a bingo section to their casino floors. I’m getting really ticked off with the BCLC telling what bingo places can use or not use when there’s no rules about fast food restaurants
Hi Rich,
I hear what you’re saying. I’ve actually contacted the casino to ask about bingo and they seem to have no plan to start it up again. That may change tho with loosening of the public health restrictions. I’ll try and stay up-to-date and if you hear anything it would be great if you’d give me a heads-up! Cheers!

I miss bingo so much. It was so relaxing and very socialable. I don’t want to give away my dabbers just in case.
Hi Debbie,
It is sad … bingo started getting harder to find even before Covid and now it just doesn’t exist. I guess times change and maybe they’ll come up with a way to re-vitalize it or come up with something new!
Thanks for your comment.

You could put bingo in a mall
There is a bingo every Wednesday night at 7:00 at the Strawberry Vale Hall ,11 High St. They still use bingo Chips (provided), but it is a lot of fun,

Thanks Don, I’ve up-dated the post to include this!
It’s really sad that the casino in Victoria can bus in all the seniors to spend their pension money on slots ,a few days and they are completely broke and left with nothing to do for the rest of the month
The casino could open a bingo for the seniors, then their money would go so much further, they would have entertainment for most of the month , I have talked to a lot of people , a bingo at the casino would really do well , and would be great for our seniors ! Does anyone know who I could speak with regarding this issue , I truly believe it is the responsibility of the casino to do this for our seniors and elderly people of our community! I would love to go to bay for them , I would do anything to help get this done !
