While in Victoria, does your child require a car seat?
Check your childs’ weight to ensure that they are in the right car seat. In B.C., children must be in a rear-facing car seat until they are one year old and at least 20 lbs (9kg). After their first birthday, toddlers weighing 20-40 lbs (9kg – 18kg) ride in a forward-facing car seat.
Booster seats are for children over 40 lbs (18kg) until they reach their ninth birthday or are 4’9″ (1.5m) in height.
If you are flying into Victoria, and need a car seat for your child, it may be possible to rent one. Here’s a link to possible sources: Little Monkey Rentals, or Wee Travel.
